I should start off by saying, that I am a completely self-taught photographer. I say that because, I will be the first to admit that I am not the most “techy” photographer, and my gear reflects that. I’m a firm believer that it’s not what’s in my camera bag that makes me a good photographer.
I believe what makes me a good photographer is simple, and that’s my ability to tell a story, find good light, capture natural expressions, and make my clients feel comfortable in front of my camera. I was doing this long before I owned any professional photography gear. Sure, I could invest in fancier gear, but this is just what works for me in this season of my business.
So if you are reading this and think that in order to become a photographer, you need to start with the things on this list – that’s false. At some point, I will tell you exactly what gear I started with and how you can make it work for you, but for now – here’s what’s in my camera bag currently…
As you can see, I keep my gear pretty simple – and that’s the way I like it! Additionally, if you are interested in receiving future, FREE educational content, sign up for my email list.
